Foodcritic

From DevOps Dictionary

Foodcritic is a linter and code standard enforcer for Chef cookbooks.

foodcritic is a static analysis tool, meaning that it examines the code without executing it. Foodcritic can find a wide range of issues, including formatting, deviation from best practices, and subtle bugs. Foodcritic includes a number of predefined rules provided by the community. From the command line, users can enable or disable individual rules, or use tags to select groups of rules. Ruby developers can also write their own new rules to enforce local standards.
